Back To All Events

Date: Saturday, February 20, 2010

Time: 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm

Have you ever want to see how fast you are for your age? The Australian Age-Sex Handicapped Cross Country event will allow you to do just that. The event is one that is based on each competitor’s age and sex and held around the manicured lawn of the SFP cross country course. The race is held over 7.5km (three laps of the 2.5km course) which is the same course the elite athletes will race in the Robert de Castella invitational, allowing participants to compare their time with Australia’s elite runners. Every competitor will be given a start time that is calculated using the a combination of the male and female World Age Group 5000m and 10,000m records.

The Australian title will be awarded to the first individual across the line, as well as the club with the lowest accumulated finishing places for its first 10 members to finish. Prizes will also be presented to the individual place-getters of this event.

Competitors vying for the Percy Cerutty Award must compete in this event.
